WHAT IS SBEF?

Small Business Extended Family (SBEF) is a collaboration of small businesses.  SBEF was conceptualized after Vertical Optimization, LLC worked with several small businesses on development issues and discovered that there existed a gap in terms of a having a designated place for small business owners to gather and share common experiences, challenges and successes.    While there are many small business service providers -- they are just that --purveyors of services only.  SBEF is different because our specialty lies in cultivating the value of shared experiences; tilling the soil in which the local business community is situated; and, harvesting real gains for our member-constituents who are local small business owners and investors (both local and non-local). At SBEF we value our trusted relationships between small business owners, particularly small, local business owners.

SBEF regularly schedules professional, networking and social events, in order for small business owners to have the opportunity to meet their peers, other small business owners, and to maintain regular contact with them, to discuss with them substantive business related issues and, over time, to count them among their most trustworthy colleagues. Facilitating the opportunity for local small business owners to develop these strategic alliances is a core function of SBEF.

Linking small businesses with investors is another core function of the SBEF network.  This linkage provides much needed infusions of capital into our constituent businesses.  Toward this end, the business vying for capital must have an economically viable business plan, which SBEF counselors can help businesses to develop.  Investors are provided real time, accurate and reliable data and analyses on which to base investment decisions.
A third core function of SBEF is to help small businesses gain entry into new markets, particularly emerging markets that require assistance to navigate.  Our SBEF counselors have years of experience and are well versed in the complexities of international trade including currency inter-convertibility, customs and managing political risk.
Capital, access to markets and strategic collaboration can promote your small business’ growth.  At SBEF your growth is our business.
